End of
Year Message
The year
2008 is almost over and although it seems premature to make balances,
I would still like to say a few words to the partners of the Swiss
Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Portugal. It has been almost a
year since my arrival in Portugal and I can say that the
Portuguese-Swiss economic community has welcomed me with great
sympathy and availability, which I greatly appreciate.
The change to the front of the Embassy also coincided with the arrival
of a new Counsellor, Mr. Marzio Tartini. A double “change guard” of
this kind always involves great effort in professional adaptation from
all those concerned.

That
important initial stage highlighted by many visits and meetings with
political, economic, cultural and institutional personalities, among
others, has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of Portugal, a friend of
Switzerland, with which it maintains ancient bilateral relations of
various natures.
