Doing IT business
The NGO Business Software Alliance (BSA) has published it’s biannual IT Industry Competitiveness Index for 2011. It is pleasant to see that both Switzerland and Portugal have improved their IT competitiveness:

Two points catches one’s eye: 1. In terms of competitiveness development, Portugal ranks among the biggest winners even after the crisis was already installed in the country; and 2. Portugal is still quite ahead of other famous IT-locations, e.g. India or China.

Therefore, and despite the current crisis ambiance in Portugal, this comparison shows that things are heading in the right direction.
However, we believe that Portugal’s improvement is not only due to a better IT infrastructure and R&D environment, but also to the very creative and highly dedicated human capital. That’s why we are noting a raising interest to outsource services to Portugal.
